Product Description
Slow Feed Hay Bag
The Slow Feed Hay Bag made by Hay Pillow was designed and is manufactured in Southern California. It’s a super tough slow feed hay bag that will keep your “starving” beast from stuffing his face too fast. Slow feed hay nets are perfect for three-day events if you free feed. The design allows your horse to completely empty the bag by having the netting get wider towards the bottom of the bag – this also encourages a more natural head position while eating. There are many advantages to a slow feed hay bag. The University of Minnesota recently did a study of slow feed net design.
- Mesh size: .75 through 1.75 inch squares, smaller at top, larger at bottom

- Holds 2-3 flakes (8 lbs of hay)
- Constructed of 500 denier nylon Cordura with DuPont netting
- Easy load top opens wide enough for whole flake
- Solid back reduces waste – especially in windy conditions

Durable Construction
We switched from the Roma slow feed hay bag to the Hay Pillow because Roma’s products (a brand owned by WeatherBeeta) don’t hold up to our quality standards. They were falling apart within just a few weeks. The Hay Pillow Slow Feed Hay Bag is made of the most rugged of materials – 500 denier nylon Cordura brand body with custom-made knotted netting made by the DuPont corporation. It’s a solid piece of equestrian grade hardware.
The unique closure system makes loading the hay bag easy. The bag has a design with a solid back which reduces wasted hay.

About the “Hay Pillow” Company
The Hay Pillow, Inc. was created in the hot, sandy, windy environment of Ramona in Southern California. The founder, Monique Warren attempted several variations of a slow feed hay bag after learning the importance of slow feeding and having horses eat from the ground… without eating the sand. After several failed attempts, a final design succeeded and the company went into production.
The Hay Pillow makes their products in the USA of American made ingredients.
