MDC Comfort Stirrups

MDC Comfort Stirrups are equipped with a rubber foot bed, unlike the similar MDC Sport Classic that has an aluminum footbed. The comfort stirrups feature MDC’s signature adjustable top that allows you to set the angle of the stirrups between 0 degrees (traditional) and a full 90 degrees. The adjustable stirrup helps reduce knee and hip pain. A rubber footbed provides great traction in dirty and wet conditions. The footbed has the option of replacement if it wears down. Many upper-level riders recommend MDC stirrups for their innovative design that actually works!

Adjustable Top

Having an adjustable top helps the stirrup to work with your body instead of against it. The MDC Comfort Stirrups can be set at three different angles: Traditional, 45 & 90 degrees.

Traditional zero degree angle where you can easily run up your MDC irons 

45 degree angle that relieves 1/2 the pressure off your shin that a normal stirrup applies. This reduces leg burns while giving the rider who relies on this pressure the feeling that they want. While the 90 degree angle gives you the maximum in stirrup retrieval capability, 45 degrees is the preferred angle for the stadium and cross country phases.

90 degree angle reduces leather pressure across the shin by 100%. This angle is the preferred angle in the dressage phase.

MDC Comfort Stirrups® greatly improve your ability to regain a lost stirrup. Just as importantly, due to the preset open angles, your MDC Stirrups™ do not turn back against the horse’s side as aggressively as traditional stirrups when lost.
