Product Description

Bridle Chin Strap Cover

Bridle Chin Strap Cover measures 7x15cm (2.75×5.5in) with a depth of wool approx 20mm. The sheepskin sticks out about 1cm on each side of the twill making the width hard to nail down so we say the average is 6cm wide when considering the sheepskin, 5cm wide when you measure just the twill. Pile is made of the softest, medical grade Merino lambskin and varies in depth, the average is 20mm. The twill uses organic cotton with Velcro (hook and loop) fasteners. Discreet yet effective. Available in Natural (undyed and unbleached) or Charcoal colored lambskin.

  • Medical grade lambskin (no chemicals)
  • Used for bridle chin straps or as a curb chain cover
  • Available in Natural or Black fleece (Charcoal, to be more specific)
  • Christ Lammfelle products NOT bleached
  • Made in Germany using environmentally friendly tanning methods
  • Velcro closures (2)

Also available:

Note: Some natural colored chin strap covers may arrive with a slight yellow hue. This is natural! Your bridle chin strap cover will turn white if you leave it out in the sun for 8-10 hours. Sun bleaching is the natural way to turn sheepskin white.

Bridle chin strap covers help prevent chin rubs caused by some bridle nosebands (not all bridle nosebands rub, the more narrow the noseband the more likely it will rub). The chin strap pad will also help distribute pressure evenly allowing more precise use of the aids. Typically more popular with dressage horses due to the popularity of crank nosebands in that discipline.
